This wedding was published in Southern New England Weddings 2009 issue…here is an excerpt from the magazine:
Having both grown up spending summers on Cape Cod, this couple choice New Seabury as their ideal wedding location. The bride says, “my most cherished childhood memories are of summers on Poponessett Beach, so I instantly knew this was the place for us.”
The day was truly a celebtation for the couple and their guests. Striving for a classic look, the couple choose hues of cream, taupe, with golden tones and chocolate brown accented with french blue for their color scheme. Edna Dratch-Parker created the sophisticated and modern vision for the event, including the invitation, menu and favors.
Family was an important part of the evening. The best man was the grooms son and he gave a toast that was, “incrediably funny, warm, mature and touching” said the bride. Another unique surprise was the 50th wedding anniversary cake given to the brides parents, recalls the bride, “My mom and dad were shocked when we presented them with the cake. It was displayed between two framed photos (their wedding day and honeymoon). They cut the cake and fed it to each other and shared a special dance.” Of the wedding, the bride says, “All the small touches were wonderful, but what made the wedding extraordinary were the family and friends (from all over) who came to share it with us. It was a momentous occasion for everyone.”
